More about Marianne Tissier

Marianne is an experienced director in the professional services sector.  Having held senior roles in different organisations involved with valuation and its related disciplines, she has extensive knowledge of the valuation profession around the world.

 

Career History

2000 - 2015: Executive Director at the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC).

1997 - 2000:  Director with a firm of property and construction consultants.

1980- 1997:  Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

 

Skills and Experience

As Executive Director of the IVSC, Marianne was responsible for the corporate management of the organisation, providing executive support to the Board of Trustees and its committees.  She had the responsibility for ensuring the IVSC operated in accordance with its bylaws, for managing the financial health of the IVSC and for building and maintaining strong relationships with new and potential financial sponsors and the national professional institutes that make up the membership of the IVSC.


Marianne led the organisation through a major restructuring in 2007/2008, and was responsible for securing financial sponsorship for the IVSC from companies such as the Big 4 global audit networks, banks, independent valuation providers and national valuation professional institutes.


She represented the IVSC at a meetings and conferences held around the world. Her vast knowledge and experience of the global valuation profession has been recognised by her appointment to the International Valuation Forum of The Appraisal Foundation in the USA.


During the seventeen years Marianne worked for RICS she established the European Department in 1990 and was subsequently appointed to head the International Department. The strategy she developed at that time was instrumental in the RICS becoming the global organisation it is today. During her time with the RICS, she provided executive support to The European Group of Valuers (TEGoVA) and was key to the development of the first edition of the European Valuation Standards. She also secured funding and then managed two EU projects.
