Additional Information: - IBAPE is a national organisation with branches in individual states. Practicing valuers are usually members of IBAPE, although this is not required by law. Most architects and engineers have received post-qualification training from IBAPE.

A voluntary standard is produced by IBAPE. Though adherence to the IBAPE standard is not mandatory, it is regarded as complementary to ABNT. Valuers who are IBAPE members must abide by its standards as well as those of ABNT. IBAPE also publishes separate standards at a state level.
